She graduated in 1996 from the Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza de Monterrey, Mexico and joined Ballet de Monterrey as a soloist.

In 1998, she was hired by the Miami City Ballet as a corps de ballet and in 2004 she was promoted to a principal dancer. During her career, she has participated in national and international contests like the Concurso nacional in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1994 and the Concurso internacional in Cuba in 1995, in both she won silver medal.

In 1998 she was a finalist at the international ballet competition in Jackson, Mississippi and in 2002 she won bronze medal in the same contest. In 2007 she rejoined ballet de Monterrey as a principal dancer and stay as a guest dancer in Miami city ballet. In 2017 she rejoined Miami city ballet full time to the present. During her career, she has invited to different ballet galas around the world, Paris, Italia, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, etc. Carranza was co-director of La escuela de ballet de Monterrey from 2013 to 2017. In 2018 she was awarded in the Monterrey international ballet gala for her career. She has danced most of the principal classic roles like Kitri in Don Quijote, Gisselle, Coppelia, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Carmen, Swan Lake, Cindirella, etc. Carranza has been working with different choreographers and teachers recognized worldwide like Alexei Ratmansky, Twayla Tharp, Justin Peck, Christopher Wheeldon, Edward Villella, Lourdez Lopez, etc.
