Natalie is 15 years old and lives in Auburn, Alabama where she attends Variations Dance Studio. Her studio strongly values the classic tradition of dance which has enabled her to dance in ballets that include The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet. She is a senior performer on their award-winning competition team where she has won various scholarships and awards. Her favorite part of her dance studio is participating in their outreach program where she can support local organizations and use her talent to give back to her community.
How old I was when I started dancing: I took my first dance class at 4 years old

What made me fall in love with ballet: Watching the Nutcracker when I was 7. I was on the edge of my seat. It was so magical. I was in complete awe at what the dancers were capable of doing. The dancing really made the music come to life
My favorite ballet: Swan Lake
My favorite variation: A tie between Don Quixote Act 1 and Esmeralda

My biggest quarantine challenge: My dance studio did a great job with going virtual to keep us dancing, but there is nothing like being in the studio with your teachers and friends. I definitely appreciate the studio space compared to my living room.
